Dr. Dinesh

Dr. Dinesh, did M.Sc.(physics) from Allahabad University and Ph.D. from IIT Kanpur. He worked as Post Doctoral Fellow at Michigan State University and later moved to University of London. During his association with IIT Kanpur, Michigan State University and London University he worked on NMR and NQR and fabricated several instruments of NQR in various ranges and while in London guided the technical crew of M/s Decca Radar towards making proto-type of NQR Spectrometer for manufacturing the instrument.

He joined R.R.L., Jammu and developed an Instrumentation Section and served as its Chairman for 7 years.

During this period he worked hard to persuade and convince the academia that Instrumentation very well qualifies to get the status of as a full-fledged subject among the engineering disciplines rather that only as a paper and succeeded in his pursuit with the combine efforts of other such groups working with same thinking. He joined Delhi University and here also developed University Science Instrumentation Centre and served as Head of the centre for nearly 18 years. During this period he helped a large number of Science Faculty Ph.D. students in data analysis of their experimental work.

He successfully guided a team of technical workers towards developing competence in repair maintenance and operation of highly sophisticated Analytical Scientific Instruments used in advance research work. He developed a very useful one year Post-B.Sc. diploma course where B.Sc. students were trained to learn repair-maintenance and operation of sophisticated Research Equipments.

He also worked as visiting Professor at NSIT, Delhi for 2 years and then worked as Emeritus–Fellow of AICTE. With ABES he is from year 2007. He published several papers in international journals like, Journal of Chemical Physics, Journal of Physical Chemistry, Journal of Magnetic Resonance and Reviews of Scientific Instruments.

Dr. Dinesh, the teacher, prophesies and is convinced that working closely with faculty and students, one enriches him with valued experience. Apart from being a teacher, scientist and administrator, he is a poet, a regular yoga- practicer and a competent yoga-teacher.
