Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery and tools. The engineering field requires an understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity. Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided engineering,and product lifecycle management to design and analyse manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices, weapons, and others.

Fluid Mechanics Lab

The objective of this laboratory is to make students able to apply fluid statics and fluid dynamics principle to the real time practical engineering problems, with the determination of instrumental and experimental accuracy.

Fluid Machinery Lab

This course helps to understand the basics of the hydro-machinery and the components, function and use of different types of turbines and pumps. It gives us insight of use of dimensional analysis in solving fluid problems and plan hydraulic similitude studies. It helps to identify and classify fluid and roto dynamic machines, hydraulic turbines, centrifugal and mixed flow pumps & fans.

Manufacturing Science Lab

This course helps to understand the mechanics of metal cutting and various aspects of tools, tool vibrations and surface finish. We are able to know different type of machine tools and their applications. It also educates us about various super finishing operations and machines related to the same. It also includes how to apply different welding processes and its thermal as well as metallurgical aspects. It help us to establish sound knowledge about nonconventional machining and welding techniques.


I.C. Engine & Automobile Lab

This course gives basic knowledge of main components of an automobile, their design with an overview of gearbox assembly. The student gains knowledge about the transmission system, steering system, braking system, wheel balancing ,,various thermal aspects, along with electrical circuits, various electrical components in an automobile along with the details of chassis system

An introduction to drafting including shape description, geometry construction, sketching, orthographic and isometric drawing,sectioning, and applied descriptive geometry. Basic dimensioning,, etc. Tolerance and pictorial drawings are also covered in it.
