A warm and affectionate welcome from Computer Science & Engineering Department!!!
Established in the year 2000, CSE Department has been growing in all dimensions. The department has excellent and diverse faculty with research and education expertise in the traditional and emerging computer science and engineering fields. Taking academics on priority, the blended learning environment is established through which students are engaged in a continuous learning environment.
Examination and assessments are the parameters through which the learning can be tested, and it has been on top among all the affiliated institutions of Dr. APJ AKTU. Students are offered various training programs along with academics that enable them to be industry-ready. Students are given the environment to excel in their competitive Coding skills through various societies and competitions. Students are active learners of various coding platforms like Code chef, Code forces, Leet Code, interview bit, Geeks for Geeks, etc. Huge numbers of students do take part in reputed Coding competitions across the globe such ACM ICPC, Google Code Jam, Google Kick Start, Hack with Infy, TCS Codevita, etc.
To enhance the department’s learning portfolio and provide a curriculum aligned with global industry standards, the department has established Centres of Excellence (COE) in CISCO Cyber Security & Networking, Ui Path Robotic Process Automation, IDs Blockchain, Full Stack Development, Software Testing, and AWS Cloud Computing. The Cyber Security & Networking COE, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure including switches, routers, and PCs, has led to decent placements package in the last few years. The Cloud AWS Academy offers academic certifications and project opportunities, while the Blockchain COE, in collaboration with Information Data Systems, has facilitated a consultancy project, internships, student projects, placements, and patent. The Robotic Process Automation COE with UiPath focuses on streamlining workflows and accelerating digital transformation, providing students with essential industry skills. These COEs offer certifications such as CCNA, CyberOps Associate, DevNet Associate, CEH, UiRPA, ISTQB-FL, Cloud+, and Security+, equipping students with cutting-edge expertise and enhancing their global career readiness. These COEs play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry expectations. By providing access to cutting-edge tools, technologies, and certifications, the department ensures students are well-equipped for global career opportunities.
Approximately 500 placement offers in the current academic year against the intake of 180 students, 63 offers in Product companies with the highest package of ₹ 59.91 LPA, apprise the department’s success rate in terms of placement.
For the overall personality development of the students, it is extremely essential to make them understand the need of research, innovation and responsibility towards society. Department of CSE recognizes the importance of promoting the creative and scientific temper among its students. Final year students are made to attend the Research methodology workshops and take up the projects that lead to research publications. Over the years, the faculty and student contribution towards the research activities have been on a constant rise. There has been a nine-fold rise in Journal papers from 2016 to 2020, and conference papers have jumped to 3 times in 2020 from 2016. Processes have been put in place to promote quality research. Constant motivation towards the research is there in the environment with the incentive policies. ABES EC has encouraged its faculty and students to establish linkages with industry and community. MoUs and its related activities are a common practice in campus. There has been a gradual increase in the tie-ups over the years. Various research grants were fetched, and the pace did not stop even in Covid time. Department promotes the involvement of students in the innovations. Several workshops are organized on IPR, resulting in the filing of a good number of Patents. With the promotion of research activities, the department has recorded an incremental growth in the number of PhDs enrolled under the faculty members. Faculty members are given exposure to carry out the research activities with the academicians in various reputed institutions. Through various extension activities like blood donation camp, light the literacy, help us to help child, Unnat Bharat, etc., students of the department are given a chance to learn their responsibility towards the society and utilize technical education in day-to-day life.
With this, I wish our students to be valuable resources for any association.
