Guest Lecture on “Digital circuit implementation on FPGA”
by Dr. D. Vaithiyanathan, Assistant Professor & HOD ECE NIT Delhi
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a Guest Lecture on “Digital circuit implementation on FPGA” today from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The guest lecture was delivered by eminent speaker from NIT delhi Dr. D. Vaithiyanathan, Head of ECE Department. The lecture was attended by 65 students and 15 Faculty members of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department. Dr. D. Vaithiyanathan started the lecture by explaining the digital logic design circuits and how can these circuits’ leads to become an Integrated Circuit (IC). Later while discussing the Moore’s Law he continued with the history of circuits to the future aspects. He touched upon the differences between computational circuits and sequential circuits, while emphasizing upon the truth table, excitation table and state reduction. He also enlightened us with the sub- disciplines of FPGA kit and its requirements. The students of second year ECE took a lot of interest in the lecture when they were motivated by the speaker to solve the questions by themselves during the lecture. The session was very interactive and students participated enthusiastically.
