An Informative Refresher course for faculty members, Energy Auditors and Energy Manager by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, India was held in ABES campus on 24-25th November 2018.
Faculty members Prof. B.K. Singh, Mr. Sandeep Tripathi, Mr. Abhinav Dengri, Ayush Kumar and Mr. Ramcharit Dubey attended the event on behalf of the civil engineering department.
About 41 BEE Certified Auditors, managers, and 4 faculty members participated in the event.
Discussions on the framework of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001 there is a provision to introduce energy managers as well as energy auditors.
These powers and functions of the Bureau are expressed in Chapter IV, Section 13(o) (p) (q) (r) and (s) of the Act.
(o) maintain a list of accredited energy auditors as may be specified by regulations;
(p) specify, by regulations, qualifications for the accredited energy auditors;
(q) specify, by regulations, the manner and intervals of time in which the energy audit shall be conducted;
(r) specify, by regulations, certification procedures for energy managers to be designated or appointed by designated consumers;
(s) prepare the educational curriculum on efficient use of energy and its conservation for educational institutions, boards, universities or autonomous bodies and coordinate with them for the inclusion of such a curriculum in their syllabus;
In order to support the implementation of these sections of the Act, they have developed a pilot scheme to test advanced and cost-effective ways to provide information and training to energy managers as well as auditors.
The objective of the training was to center all information about local and international technology, energy efficiency issues, technical references around lecture notes for auditors and managers.
