Introductory Classes for B.Tech. I Year Newly Admitted Students (26th October – 6th November 2020)-

Introductory Classes: For the Students of the academic session 2020-21, two-week Introductory Classes were successfully conducted by the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities. In this program, classes of elementary subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry were conducted at the beginning, and later on, classes based on fundamental engineering subjects, like Electrical, Electronics, C Programming, and Mechanical Engineering were conducted. The main outcome of this program was to develop an applicative approach in students so that, they could apply knowledge of fundamental subjects to their field of engineering.

Orientation cum Induction Program for B.Tech. I Year (Session 2020-21)-

Orientation day B.Tech. I Year: The orientation program for B. Tech first-year students of batch 2020-21 was initiated on 3rdDecember 2020 as orientation day. The online activity was conducted in order to acquaint the new entrants with all the rules and regulations of AKTUand the institute. The activities like the introduction of class coordinators and subject teachers,HOD’s address, allotment of sections,creation of an official WhatsApp group, selection of class representatives, sharing of online study material and interaction with peers were conducted. The students were informed about the road- mapof the online induction program and commencement of the online classes.

Know your Department:This activity was conducted by the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, with the help of esteemed faculty members, from other departments of ABESEC. The main objective of this activity was to provide in-depth knowledge of the respective branch of engineering, its application, job opportunities, and the latest technologies which are being utilized in the real world. This event was part of an online orientation program and was completed in a span of one week from 15th to 22nd December 2020.

Engineering Innovation: Critical Thinking: This event was conducted by the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities in association with 'Norlights Trainings' as a part of the online orientation program from 21st to 24th December 2020.

An Expert talk was delivered by Mr. Suryansh Chaudhary, Founder, and CEO- Norlights Trainings for all the B.Tech. first-year students. This program motivated the students to improve their abilities to think- 'outside the box, analyze information, make decisions, evaluate new ideas, think rationally, and become independent and self-directed learners.

Innovation & Entrepreneurship Eco-System: “Prologue Session - Innovation & Entrepreneurship Eco-System” series was conducted for B.Tech. I year students, which was organized by the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities. These sessions were conducted by Mr. Mahendra Kumar Gupta, CEO- INurture Incubation Foundation – ABESEC from 5th to 9th January 2021. This event was really helpful for the students, to identify & develop entrepreneurship skills, and the need to foster an eco-system that would support escalating entrepreneurial dreams along with community values.

Entrepreneur Marathon: This event was conducted by Mr. Suryansh Chaudhary, Founder, and CEO- Norlights Trainings on 14th April 2021 as a follow-up, related to his talks delivered to the students, during the online orientation program in December 2020. Around 300 students of B.Tech. I year, enthusiastically attended this marathon event. During the sessions, the students got acquainted with the topics like training & challenges, team formation, prototyping, presenting, and other aspects required to groom an entrepreneurial attitude.

Orientation cum Induction Program for B.Tech. I Year Students (Session 2019-20)

ASH successfully conducted a three-week induction program for first-year students of B.Tech. program from 31st July 2019 to 22nd August 2019. The main aim of the Induction Program was to give the students, a clear picture of the scope and perspective of engineering, and the career opportunities for them, along with the rules and regulations of the college.

The objective of the Induction Program was to help upcoming technocrats to assimilate the characteristics of having a clear vision, to look forward with a positive mindset for coexistence in the society, and to develop a holistic approach and zeal to work not only for the self but also, work to make this world a better place to live. This program also helped the students to enhance their conversation and social skills, to get ready for the future.

Prof. Jaya Singh, HOD ASH, appreciated the noble idea initiated by AICTE and applauded AKTU, for implementing such a wonderful program for the new entrants who participated in various events wholeheartedly.

Staff Development Program

Training and development describe the formal, ongoing efforts that are made within the organization to improve the performance, and self-fulfillment of their employees, through a variety of educational methods and programs.

MS-office Automation (9th-27th December 2019)

Objective of SDP: To upskill our staff, regarding the computation of data, and ensure that our staff members learn to write and compute data without errors.

Scope of the Workshop

  • Fundamental knowledge about MS- Office suite.
  • Introduction to Office suite: Word, Excel.
  • Documents Creation: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Analyzing several shortcut keys for document management
  • Applying the different formula for data analysis and visualization
Computation of data on Excel and Word (13th- 17th March 2019)

Objective of SDP: To upskill our staff such that it helps them to enhance their skills regarding computation of data. This is to ensure that our staff members learn to write and compute the data without errors.

Scope of the Workshop

  • Fundamental knowledge about the computation of data in MS- Office.
  • Introduction to office suite: Word, Excel.
  • Documents Creation: Word, Excel, and Designing of the tables, implementation of Macros.
  • Applying different formulas for data analysis, cell formatting.
  • Different operations on worksheets in Excel.
Professional Email and Application Writing (14th - 15th Feb 2019)

Objective of SDP: To upskill our staff, such that they become proficient in writing emails and applications.

Scope of the Workshop

  • Fundamental knowledge about the writing of Professional Emails and Applications.
  • To write an application and email on specific topics.
  • To make them learn how to write email and application at the workplace.
