Yes, there are various award policies for top performers. Some awards are at institute level and such as cash award for year wise toppers and branch wise toppers, etc.
After graduating from B. Tech in Information Technology, a student can opt for a career in various promising IT companies such as Software Developer, Data Scientist, Software Tester, Network Engineer, Database Administrator, Cyber Security Specialist etc. The students of B.Tech. IT also opt jobs in government sectors ad PSU. Our students are also encouraged to qualify GATE, CAT or GRE to go for higher studies at national / international level.

Department of Information Technology provides various real-world project-oriented training programs that make students industry ready. The department provides technical training on various programming languagessuch as Java,Python, etc. right just from their first year till fourth year. The department also provides aptitude and communication skill classes for all students so that they can compatible enough for any company placement drive.
We have also some company tie ups at institute and department level to provide the training programming on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IOT, Blockchain, etc. for specialized job of our students.The department of IT also provides a platform for our students where alumni sans experts interact with the students and solve their doubts and queries. This mentoring helps the student to become industry ready

The department supports the interested students who opt for higher studies. We conduct specialized/ problem classes for important subjects of GATE. We also provide assistance ship for the students who want to go for CAT or GRE through some expert inside/ outside of the campus. Our students are doing MTech for IITs, MS from abroad, and MBA from reputed institutions.
The department has an established mentor mentee system. In this system each student (mentee) is connected with one faculty member (mentor). The mentor takes care of overall development, academic and personal difficulty of their mentee. A concrete guideline of this system with weekly mentor – mentee interaction brings a strong foundation in the department.
The following steps are used for project select by students of final year: -
The projects of final year of B.Tech. IT students is a major academic curriculum. The department gives strong focus on final year projects. A complete manual and execution of project work are prepared at department level. The major steps by which a student select their project are:
  • The interest or problem statement for the students are collected along with their team member.
  • We refined problem statement and map it with the research domain of the concern faculty member.
  • We also provide a list of projects collected from industries or funding organizations.
  • To the students who are not ready with their problem statements or want to select the problem statement from this list.
  • A project guide is allocated to each group of students.
We have a separate policy (reimbursement of registration fee, publication fee) for the students to attend seminars/conferences or to publish research papers
The department has a Student Grievance Redressal Cell (SGRC) that takes care of all student grievances and then redresses complaints at department level. The SGRC committee consists of Head of the Department, AHOD, Professors and female faculty members. The students submit their grievances in written and the cell members ensure that a proper action is taken to redress it. The objective of SGRC is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all stakeholders in order maintain harmony in the department.
