UBA Activities @ ABESEC in 2020

‘Koi Bhukha Na Soye Abhiyaan’ during lockdown-2020, 50 kits distribution in 5 Adopted Villages. (01-15 May 2020)

In the situation of COVID-19, pandemic lockdown during 2020, ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad (UP) took initiative to identify the food supply demand for the poor villagers in different villages adopted by UBA_ABESEC under the campaign titled as “KOI BHUKHA NA SOYE” of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow Uttar Pradesh, as per circular wide from AKTU VC office no. AKTU/ VCO/2020/ 10760 dated on April 12, 2020.
In this regard, ABESEC administration nominated two faculty members Mr. Rohit Rastogi (Sr. Asst. Prof., CSE) and Mr. Tarun Kumar Sharma (Sr. Asst. Prof., MCA) to establish the contact with the Pradhans of different villages and to find out the number of poor families in these villages. As result of regular contacts, till 19 April, 2020, they identified total 50 families consist of approx 200 members in three different villages named as Masuri, Matiala, Kanauja during the period of 1st may 2020 to 13th may 2020.
Each food supply kit consisting of 10kg wheat, 1 lt. edible oil, 1 packet salt, 2kg pulse, 5kg Rice, some basic spices, 5 soaps for hand wash, 1 toothpaste etc. costing around Rs. 600/- to Rs. 650/-.
Total budget of Rs. 32500/- was approved by honorable Director Prof. (Dr.) Shailesh Tiwari Ji and the kind support of President Shri. Neeraj Goel Ji, Vice President Shri. Sachin Goel Ji for this novel campaign titled as “KOI BHUKHA NA SOYE”.
Mr. Kapil Garg (Admin Officer), Mr. Manoj Kr. Chaurasia and Mr. Jagpal and his co-team members supported to hand over the food supply kits to the Pradhans of three different villages.

UBA Team distributed Sanitizer and Necessary Kits in Chipiyana Village, Ghaziabad (08 July, 2020)

An awareness campaign was driven at Chipiyana area at Doondakheda village near ABESEC, where the Covid’19 awareness was made among residents. Villagers were appealed to use sanitizer and mask and wash hands till 20 seconds. On this occasion, team distributed masks, sanitizers, soaps etc. among people. Ms. Nitika Jain, HoD-IT, Dr. Amit Sinha, Admin officer, Sh. Kapil Garg, faculty members Sh. Ashwin Perti, Sh. Atif and Ms. Nikita Ghosh contributed in success of the event.

UBA-ABESEC Team Conducted Webinar on ‘Awareness of NEP-2020’ (20 Sept., 2020)

Webinar was started by the welcome note of Mr. Rohit Rastogi (Nodal officer-UBA) followed by mentor of UBA, Prof. (Dr.) Gajendra Singh’s address and blessings. Dr. Singh imparted valuable suggestions for UBA and also highlighted essential points of NEP.
Mr. Shardool veer Vikram Singh addressed the participants with all the key points and features of New Education Policy 2020. Mr. Divyanshu Jaiswal discussed all the points of NEP and explained each and every aspect of it. Speakers mainly focused on

  • Equity and Inclusion
  • Community Participation
  • Use of technology
  • Emphasize Conceptual Understanding
  • Unique Capabilities
  • Critical Thinking and Creativity
  • Continuous Review
Students from all across the country joined the webinar. Overall discussion with deep analysis was done in both English and Hindi. Students From backward grounds participated in this event. Students driven NGO, HUHC also participated in the webinar. Professor and teachers from different schools and colleges participated in it. Program ended with addressing all doubts regarding different aspects of NEP.

UBA-ABESEC Team Conducted Webinar on ‘Corona and Hygeine’ (02 Oct., 2020)

The main aim of the webinar was to make people aware on the importance of hygiene during the COVID-19 pandemic. The student Chair, Mr. Shardool Veer Vikram addressed all the participating members and gave an insight about the agenda of the webinar. The Nodal Officer, UBA@ABESEC, Mr. Rohit Rastogi briefed about the importance of health and hygiene during the pandemic. He also stressed on various measures we should follow to keep ourselves healthy and fit during the pandemic which included regular exercising, having a balanced diet, etc.
Speaker of the session, Mr. Ankur Sharma, Basic Amenities theme coordinator in UBA-ABESEC, discussed a basic idea about the agenda of the webinar and then discussed each and every aspect about it in detail. He touched following points in his address-

UBA-ABESEC Team Conducted Webinar on ‘Role and Initiative by Ghaziabad Administration for Village Development’ (18 Oct., 2020)

Webinar speaker, Mr. P.N. Dixit praised ABESEC; for its work for social upliftment which has been done by UBA-ABESEC in just two years of time since its foundation. He also suggested some more ideas and areas where one should work upon to serve the people in the best way possible.
Mr P.N. Dixit also promised that all possible support will be given to UBA-ABESEC by the District Administration for different works, UBA wing is doing. He told about the various projects which are being/ had been initiated by the Central Government and State Government for the rural development. He also expressed his desire to work with the UBA Chapter of ABESEC in upcoming events.
The Village Pradhans, teachers and students attended the session and got insights on many new and different things about rural development. It was extremely motivating for all the participants to have Mr. Dixit as esteemed speaker at the Webinar

UBA-ABESEC Team Conducted Webinar on ‘UBA Role and Initiative for Nation Building’ (31 Oct., 2020)

Dr. Priyanka Kaushal praised UBA ABESEC team for the active and continuous work in adopted villages. She also promised that all possible support will be given to UBA wing of ABESEC by the IIT-Delhi for all the work, team is doing.
She also guided to increase the active participation of students towards society as the MHRD MoE has decided to offer credits in the semesters of professional courses the students are pursuing. Also the government is providing funds to various colleges and various projects initiated by UBA now in more active and timely manner.
She stressed upon the need of working in coordination with the Village Pradhans, teachers and the district administration to get the most desired and effective result of the all-round development of the society. She motivated to look beyond one’s self-comfort and try to work with a mentality of helping others while working for UBA. All the participants were benefit with many new and different things about rural development and it was extremely motivating for all to hear Dr. Kaushal.
The team members discussed about the various challenges which are faced by colleges while working with Village Administration and she gave some very useful and practical tips to overcome them. She also suggested some more ideas and areas where UBA-team should work upon to serve the people in the best way possible.

UBA Team visits and Meets with Pradhans of Kushaliya, Kanauja and Matiala (adopted villages) for Youth Skill Development Program (9 Nov., 2020)

On 23 October 2020, V.C.-AKTU, Lucknow, Prof.Vinay Kumar Pathak chaired a meeting with the Directors of the affiliating colleges to discuss about the social and developmental work in the villages adopted by the colleges under UBA.
These colleges will act as Nodal Centres for the entire state of Uttar Pradesh for all the developmental programs. As per the directives of the University, ABESEC has been nominated as nodal centre of Youth Skill Development Program.
In this perspective, the UBA cell members of ABESEC, Dr. Anuj Jain, faculty ME dept., Mr. Raveedra, ME (CNC) Lab Instructor, Mr. Nand Kishor, Village Expert and Mr. Rohit Rastogi, Nodal officer, UBA ABESEC visited the 3 adopted villages (Kushaliya, Kanauja, Matiala) to discuss their Pradhans about the developmental work and possible trainings to be done.
The Gram Pradhans, Sh. Chajju Pandit, Sh. Ajit Tyagi, and Sh. Sandeep Kr. were individually addressed by UBA team and they were asked to provide the names of the youths who do not wish to continue their studies after their high-school, for employment orientation.
The main aim of this training program is to make the youth Self-Reliant, so that they can start their own business and be part of the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan”. They will be given training in our campus on particular skill as per their interests. The domains in which the campus will give trainings are Mechanical, Electrical and IT services.
